Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North

by Anti-Racisim Committee

We would like you to be aware of an important television movie entitled Traces of the Trade scheduled to air on the PBS award-winning independent documentary series P.O.V. on Tuesday, June 24 at 9 p.m. Central Time Zone...

DeWolf Family Tree picture(check your local listings).  Traces of the Trade recounts the history of the slave trade in the United States, and the film has been recommended by Dr. Anita P. George of Starkville, chair of the Anti-Racism Committee for the Episcopal Church. Anita also serves as our lead lay deputy to General Convention.

The Episcopal Church has supported Katrina Browne as she developed Traces of the Trade over the years. You can read about the film at www.tracesofthetrade.org , and an interview with filmmaker Browne and cousin Tom DeWolf, author of the personal memoir Inheriting the Trade, is scheduled to appear on CBS's "The Early Show" on June 19 ("Juneteenth"). The interview will most likely air during the show's final half-hour, usually 8:30-9:00 am, but could easily be "bumped" if breaking news warrants.

Please let your congregations know about this important broadcast.
